Olympic Day was a chance for people from around the world not only to find out more about various sports, but also to get moving. The annual June celebrations came to the end but it is important to remember about the Olympic spirit all year round. In about seven months we will celebrate Sochi Winter Olympics, while on 27th July it will be exactly one year since the London 2012 started. Let’s look at some of the moments of the last Olympics.

First stop on the Olympic trip – Wenlock, one of the two official mascots. Here guarding Big Ben.
The way to the Olympic Park was long but worthwhile…
…especially to have a look into the windows of the Olympic village.
There was time to learn…
…and time to wander around the Olympic Park.
Unfortunately plans to visit the Olympic museum had to be put aside.
Trafalgar Square was filled with Mexico fans who just in a couple of hours could celebrate their 2:1 win over Brazil in men’s football final.
The volleyball arena in Earl’s Court hosted the women’s final Brazil : United States with later Brazil’s 3:1 win.
At the same time the Mall and the Constitution Hill were arenas for women’s 20km walk final.
People from around the world gathered to take the best viewing spots along the route…
…to chill out with their friends and families…
…but most importantly to cheer on their athletes.
Olga Kaniskina from Russia was one of the athletes who took podium places winning silver, while her countryman Elena Lashamova finished in first and Chinese Qieyang Shenije took third.
Before it was time to go back home just a couple of final looks to celebrate the Olympic spirits.
Found Wenlock spending some time with kids…
…while walking towards the coach station and saying ‘bye’ to London 2012.
